Hays Community Theatre is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization.
 

We rely on the patronage and donations of generous businesses and individuals who appreciate the arts and the opportunity for family and friends from Hays and the surrounding area to share their time and talent.

 

HCT is truly a family and we welcome you to become part of it by auditioning for an upcoming production or by donating to help with the costs of producing upcoming events.

Board Openings

The Hays Community Theatre is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. If you have time and talent to spare, we’d love to have your input on our board. Please download the PDF, fill it out, and either e-mail it to us or mail it to us.

Committees

Season Selection Committee

1. Members as appointed by the Chair in consultation and with the approval of the Board of Directors;

2. Read and recommend a selection of productions for the coming season.

3. Select the production and audition dates and order of plays for the upcoming season, including any reviews, laboratory, or fundraising shows.

Advertising & Public Relations Committee

1. Members as appointed by the Chair in consultation and with the approval of the Board of Directors

2. Create a Marketing Plan and Social Media Plan for the upcoming season, to be presented to the Board for approval;

3. Propose updates throughout the year to any of our public facing outlets (e.g. Website, Box Office, Signage, etc…).

4. Coordinate all program advertising for the playbill – solicitation (mailings, etc..), ad updates from buyers throughout the season, coordinating the above items with the Marketing chair

5. Represent the organization through membership, professional, or other groups (i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Rotary, etc.);

6. Seek/Solicit any show sponsorship or underwriting and create sales information to disseminate to potential sponsors – with assistance from the Fund Raising chair and Treasurer;

7. Work with the Treasurer to track income and in--‐kind trades for ads, services, or products;

Fundraising (Donations, Grants &Venue) Committee

1. Members as appointed by the Chair in consultation and with the approval of the Board of Directors

2. Coordinate tracking of all monetary and in--‐kind donations to the organization with the assistance of the Ad Sales/PR Chairs and the Treasurer;

3. Coordinate all Fund Raising Programs/Campaigns with assistance from the Treasurer;

4. Coordinate all Grant work (with assistance from the Treasurer & PR Committee), monitor deadlines and submissions, and provide any needed follow‐up reporting;

5. Work with Board & PR committee to develop new donors;

6. Network and communicate with Realtors, property owners, architects, and city staff on venue proposals, leasing and purchasing.

Production Committee

1. Members as appointed by the Chair in consultation and with the approval of the Board of Directors

2. Work with the Board to secure a Venue and/or Rehearsal facilities;

3. Assist Director with selection of Assistant Director, Music Director and Choreographer;

4. Supervise and facilitate Set, Prop, Lighting & Sound, Box Office and Costume Coordinators;

5. Designate a Board Liaison to provide a Board presence at rehearsals;

Underwriting

We operate solely on the generosity of our patrons as well as the community as a whole.  After all, it is your community theatre. 

Hays Community Theatre Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit entity,

so your donations are tax-deductible!

Whistles & Cheers

With a $250 donation, sponsors will receive a ¼ page ad in show programs & 2 complimentary tickets to the summer show.

Standing Ovation

With a $500 donation, sponsors receive a ½ page ad in show programs & 4 complimentary tickets to the summer show.
 

Encore Performance

With a $1000 donation, sponsors receive a one page ad in show programs, business logo/name on programs, posters, signs & flyers, 10 complimentary tickets to the summer show & will be mentioned in any media promotions.

Bringing Down The House

With a $2000 donation, sponsors receive a one page ad in show programs, business logo/name on programs, posters, signs & flyers, 10 complimentary tickets to the summer show, 10 complimentary tickets, per season, to events held at the HCT venue, 2 prime reserved parking spaces for event of your choice & will be mentioned in any media promotions.
